Page history last edited by juniper 2 yrs ago

In his August 2007 book The Argument: Billionaires, Bloggers, and the Battle to Remake Democratic Politics, New York Times Magazine feature writer Matt Bai provides information from a survey taken at the first meeting (in April 2005) of the Democracy Alliance donors.

The survey was taken the night they all arrived at an exclusive resort south of Scottsdale, Arizona.

  • 38% described themselves as "progressive"

  • 24% described themselves as "liberal"

  • 7% said they thought of themselves as "Democrats"

  • 84% said the conservative movement represents "a fundamental threat to the American way of life".

  • 86% said the main goal of the Democracy Alliance should be to "support long-term objectives".
